Duel

So now we have a duel. A duel between Hillary Clinton and George W Bush.  Hillary Clinton is doing everything can to tear down Barack Obama's brand and give John McCain the election.  Meanwhile, George W Bush has been everything doing everything he can to tear down the Republican Party brand and give Barack Obama the election.

For once I am rooting for W, who is doing a heck of a job:

President Bush has set a record he'd presumably prefer to avoid: the highest disapproval rating of any president in the 70-year history of the Gallup Poll.

In a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Friday through Sunday, 28% of Americans approve of the job Bush is doing; 69% disapprove. The approval rating matches the low point of his presidency, and the disapproval sets a new high for any president since Franklin Roosevelt.

Hackie Carr Wants Christy Mihos Out

Hackie Carr has officially turned himself into Kerry Healey's top pom-pom girl.  In a barely decipherable column today in the Herald Hackie babbles some political advice from renowned political thinker/criminologist Fred Smerlas, then pleads with Mihos to drop out of the race. 

Well, I think a couple of Republicans had already asked Mihos to get out of the race, so I doubt Hackie's little piece will do it.  But, the real piece of clarity comes in punchline:

With three weeks to go, Christy, all you’re doing now is splitting the anti-Deval vote. The question recurs: Are you out of your bleepin’ mind?

Because even Hackie has admit there isn't any such thing as a pro-Healey vote.
